Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology

Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET), Coimbatore was established in the year 1998 for providing quality technical education to the young minds of the state. The amazing world class campus of SKCET was established in the Golden Jubilee year of Indian Independence with 180 students. It is run by Sri Krishna Institutions along with five other Educational Institutions and it is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by AICTE. The adorable campus is located in NH47 highway, just 3 kms from the heart of the city. The college was granted Autonomous status since the year 2011 due to its significant growth in short span of time.

SKCET is built with an ambience which stimulates intellectual thinking and academic interaction. The college is the epitome of the vision of its founder Sri. S. Vankatram. He envisioned the college to be international standard, be it buildings, equipments, teaching-learning process. He firmly believed that by imparting such high quality education, our students will be prepared to compete globally for international jobs. The college has now grown in size and stature under the competent administration of Smt. S. Malarvizhi, the Chairperson and Managing Trustee of Sri Krishna Group of Institutions. Presently, the annual intake of students is more than 1400 and the college has rendered its fruitful service to the society in a spectacular way. It is ranked among the frontline engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu and our college has already carved a niche amongst the public.

In all, the college offers seven undergraduate and nine postgraduate programmes in Engineering, Computer Applications and Management. It has full-fledged infrastructure furnished in all aspects with a world-class library as the highlight. The college has also carved a niche for research and development and regularly organizes workshops, conferences, seminars and symposiums for the benefit of staff and students.

Currently SKCET is an autonomous institution affiliated to the Anna University, offers seven undergraduate and nine postgraduate programmes in Engineering, Computer Applications and Management. Mr.S.Vankatram, the founder of our college was a great visionary. He had great long term goals for the college. He wanted everything in Sri Krishna to be of International standard be it buildings, equipments or faculty. He wanted our Teaching-Learning mechanism to be on par with the international standards and quality. He firmly believed that by imparting such high quality education, our students will be prepared to compete globally for international jobs. The pride of place our college enjoys today amongst public is solely his vision and guidance. He was a good learner and was up to date on many technical areas such as Computer Science, Robotics, and Management etc.

Mrs. S. Malarvizhi, the present Chairperson and Managing Trustee, plays a key role in establishing a hall mark for Sri Krishna & VLB Institutions. She is well aware of all the domains in the academic field, as she started her career as a teacher. Further she had been well groomed by Mr. S. Vankatram in educational administration.

Mr. C.R.Swaminathan, former CEO, PSG Institutions has more than three decades of experience in educational administration. He has to his credit an MBA degree and he plays an active role in various industrial and social organizations. He had held coveted positions as President in SIEMA, as Chairman in CII, Coimbatore and was a member of State Planning Commission. He is a Member of our Governing Council since inception and contributes his wise counsel to the development of the Sri Krishna & VLB Institutions.

Dr. K .Sundararaman M.Com, M.Phil., Ph.D. has 40 years of teaching experience as the Head of the Department of Commerce and also has 17 years of dynamic administrative experience in managing all the courses under self –financing stream in a reputed autonomous College in Coimbatore. He joined the college as Principal in the year 2005. He has published five books.His area of specialization is Quality Assurance in Higher Education.
